Combined Insurance, a leading provider of individual and group supplemental accident, disability, health, and life insurance products, and a Chubb company, received an A+ accreditation from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) again this year, making the company BBB-accredited since 1954 and creating a 62-year legacy of continuous accreditation. The A+ rating means that Combined Insurance meets BBB accreditation standards, which includes a commitment to make a good faith effort to resolve any consumer complaints.
The BBB rating is based on how the company interacts with customers through professional service, business practices, and data from public sources. As with all businesses accredited by the BBB, Combined Insurance must affirm to the BBB's “Code of Business Practices,” a comprehensive set of policies, procedures, and best practices on how businesses treat consumers.
Combined Insurance representatives were invited and attended the Better Business Bureau of Chicago and Northern Illinois’ annual “Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics” luncheon on December 1, 2016. Combined Insurance has been a past recipient of the BBB’s Torch Award, which is the most prestigious award the BBB can present to a business for high standards of service and ethics.
Dennis Ontaneda, Vice President, Sales for Combined Insurance, has been a longtime member of the Board of Directors for the BBB, currently serves on the Executive Board of the BBB, and was a 2014 recipient of the organization’s Torchbearer Award, which is awarded annually to an individual for exemplary service to their community. Another previous winner of this award includes Combined Insurance’s founder, W. Clement Stone.
“Combined Insurance is honored to receive an A+ rating again this year from the Better Business Bureau,” said Ontaneda. “This accreditation validates that our strategy, practices, and standards continue to meet the needs of our policyholders—serving them with utmost integrity now and in the future. We are proud to be affiliated with such a reputable organization as the Better Business Bureau.”
Businesses deemed to meet Accreditation Standards are presented to the BBB's Board (or designees) for review and acceptance as a BBB Accredited Business. To be accredited by BBB a business or organization affirms that it meets and will abide by the following standards:
